Privacy Statement

At The Internet Film Festival™, this privacy policy was developed to provide you with assurance that we operate within the highest ethic standards and will not use your personal information in any way that would compromise these values. The Internet Film Festival is in the business of delivering content that is focused on enabling the film maker and entertaining the film audience. Our business plan does not include any component of  data trafficking and as such, we give our word that the information you provide to us is respected and protected and not intended for the purposed of anything other than informing those interested individuals about our offerings.  Our privacy policy is provided below:

General Usage


The Internet Film Festival™ or The Internet Film Production Company may offer our members additional services which may require the transfer of all or some of your information to other areas of our site, associated sites, or other published media. We will present matters concerning your privacy and the integrity of your data openly and in their appropriate contexts in advance of usage. All visitors and subscribers will have the opportunity to "opt-out" of notifications about additional services or to cancel your subscription if you feel we are not acting in a manner acceptable to your expectations.
Acceptable uses for transferring your data include (but not limited to) elements required for:  delivery of products and services that you may order from us which may be subcontracted or fulfilled through partnerships; to publicize and promote member films to third parties that in our judgment offers benefits to filmmakers seeking broader exposure, We reserve the right to send you "internal communications," about important company developments regarding our offerings, our support, our technical requirements, or  any other correspondence we determine is constructive to our community or to you as our customer. The Internet Film Festival also records visitor information that cannot be associated to any specific individual including IP address, aggregate user data, and browser type, from all visitors to the site. This data is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website services. This generic site data may be shared with third-parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes.
If The Internet Film Festival were acquired in whole or in part, by a third party, that third party may also decide to contact The Internet Film Festival members for the purposes of offering their other products or for informational purposes. You would be notified in advance of any such relationship and its potential effects upon this policy. In all other cases, your personal information will not be shared with third parties unless you give that third party "opt-in" permission to contact you independent of The Internet Film Festival or The Internet Film Production Company communications. In any forms we ask our users to fill-in, where there is an ‘opt-in” selection, we will assume that you do NOT authorize third party data sharing and you will need to specifically request your information to be shared outside of The Internet Film Festival, The Internet Film Production Company or any of the company’s current or future subsidiaries.

The Internet Film Festival has automated security methods in place to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, alteration or unintentional destruction. Our company hiring policies include a discussion of member privacy and emphasize the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of our members. All employees are bound to maintain and uphold our current published Privacy Policy
Personal information collected by The Internet Film Festival is stored and maintained in secure operating environments that are not available to the public. Other than the uses specified above, we do not share personal information with any third parties unless we believe that such action is necessary to conform to legal requirements, protect the rights of The Internet Film Festival, or enforce the The Internet Film Festival Terms of Service. Please be aware that our web sites have inks to the web sites of outside of our domain and control. If you click on these links you are leaving our website. While we do not share any personal information about you when you click on these links, once you leave the The Internet Film Festival environment for a partner's site, the privacy policy of the external site may be different from The Internet Film Festival's Privacy Policy.

If your computer is available to others, you should remember to logout and close your browser window when you have finished your work to ensure that others cannot access your personal information. We recognize our responsibility to protect the privacy of your personal information. You may also use this address to communicate any concerns you may have regarding compliance with our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy to adapt to our changing business, technological innovations, and the needs and expectations of our users. If we change our Policy, these changes will be posted here so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and whether we disclose it to anyone. If we make any material change concerning how your personal information is used or disclosed, then, in addition to including such revision in this Privacy Policy, we will post a notice on the The Internet Film Festival site that such changes to the Privacy Policy are going into effect and send you an e-mail notification. If you are dissatisfied with any changes in our Policy, you will have a reasonable opportunity to object or to close your account with us. You are expected to review this Agreement periodically to ensure familiarity with the most current version.

The Visitor and Audience Subscriber

The Internet Film Festival™ collects visitor submitted information such as name and email address. We will use this data to send notifications to those participants relating to The Internet Film Festival offerings, updates and services. The Internet Film Festival also collects subscriber profile data including but not limited to: films genre interest, personal interests, gender, age, residence, and occupation to identify and authenticate paying subscribers as well as provide meaningful communications about our programs and promotions.  “Audience Subscribers” are provided a “screen name” to facilitate anonymity during community interaction and when posting film reviews. The Internet Film Festival allows for users to query for other members by name and/or email address but not by any other parameter. Subscribers are able the make their personal profile visible to other subscribers (Member Visibility) in order to facilitate introductions and communications outside of the festival.

The Film Maker Subscriber

If you choose to submit a film to The Internet Film Festival™, you have a different policy to protect your privacy. In order to submit your film, you must be an Internet Film Festival “Film Maker Subscriber” which requires you to provide a full user profile and agree to the terms and conditions of our Film Maker program. One of those conditions is you will be required to make your profile available for Member Visibility which is limited only to other subscribers.  You may also provide additional “External Visibility” to facilitate exposure of your film and profile to other film festivals of your choosing. By authorizing External Visibility, you give those festivals permission to share your information with whomever that festival would share film submission information as a course of their standard operations. The Internet Film Festival and The Internet Film Production Company does not control how a festival shares or utilizes the information you authorize to share. If you are concerned, you should review the privacy policy of the specific festival to understand how it intends to use your information. We do not disclose the list of festivals to which you apply to anyone and it is your choice to keep acceptance or rejection private. Thus, no other member of The Internet Film Festival will know to which festivals your films were submitted unless either you share this in your profile or the festival makes submissions public and members find this on an external site. To drive convenience and control, The Internet Film Festival will also provide each Film Maker Subscriber with an email address that can be accessed through standard email protocol and Film Maker Members may use this for both film related and personal communications. This email address can help protect your privacy by giving you the ability to share this address with individuals who are not members of The Internet Film Festival. All emails provided to Film Maker Subscribers will be protected by industry accepted anti-Spam software.
